What can I use on the little white bumps under my skin?Updated a month ago
Those little white bumps are often called milia, and gentle, regular exfoliation is what helps. It's worth being patient with - they sit under the surface, so nothing shifts them overnight.
We've got two exfoliators and either one does the job:
- This Is Me Enzyme Exfoliator - fruit enzymes rather than grit, so there's nothing abrasive about it.
- Spoonful of Sugar Exfoliating Scrub - sugar and bamboo, for when you like the feel of a scrub.
Some people use both and some pick one. Either way, a couple of times a week is plenty.
In between, a Konjac Sponge is about as gentle as exfoliation gets. It's a soft facial sponge you use with your cleanser, and it's gentle enough for every day, or morning and night if you like.
The other thing worth a look is what else is going on that patch of skin. A rich cream or balm can be more than the skin there needs, especially on the forehead, so it's worth having a think about what you're already putting on.
With anything new, try it along the jawline or behind the ear first and leave it a day or so before using it all over.
What to swap to depends on your skin type, and our free Email Skin Consult is the quickest way to sort that out. Our routine for blackhead-prone skin is a good read too if you get congestion alongside them.
