It shouldn't. A light application is all you need.

The sticks go on light and don't need rubbing in. With the pastes, work it in like a moisturiser rather than leaving it sitting on the surface - that's the bit that stops it feeling like anything at all.

How much deodorant you actually need has the amounts for both.
