Why have we chosen aluminium packaging for our skin and hair products? Is it recyclable?Updated 10 months ago

While paper-based packaging is our #1 choice and used widely here at Woohoo, we chose aluminium to house products that weren’t compatible with cardboard (i.e. many of our skin and hair creations).

When choosing a type of packaging many factors come into play - the weight, environmental impact, usability, and so on.

One main reason for the switch to Aluminium for tins, bottles, and tubes is because -  unlike plastic - aluminium has the unique ability to be infinitely recycled. 

Due to its ease of recycling, most local councils will be able to accept your aluminium bottles once you’re finished with them.

Recycling aluminium saves 90% more energy than sourcing new aluminium. It can be back on a shelf in recycled form in as little as 60 days. It’s also lighter to ship than glass, which means fewer carbon emissions and a huge win for our planet.

Our aluminium tubes, tins, and bottles are coated in a BPA-free resin to protect the product, and you 😊

We encourage you to re-use your droppers, pumps and sprayers by purchasing from our Refill range, but once they’re worn out please check out our Recycling Program. You can return them to us in exchange for rewards!
