What does ‘detoxing your pits’ mean, and do I need to do it?Updated 2 months ago
Around here, "detox" doesn't mean anything extreme or medical - your body handles that side of things by itself. It simply means clearing away everyday buildup so your underarms feel clean, comfy and ready for deodorant.
Our Armpit Detox Mask uses a trio of mineral clays to help lift away:
- leftover deodorant
- sweat and skincare residue
- excess oil
- general buildup from daily life
It can be a good idea if you're:
- switching from antiperspirant to natural deodorant
- noticing more odour than usual while you settle in
- finding your deodorant isn't sitting right
- just wanting to freshen things up
Think of it as a reset button for your underarms, so your deodorant can sit comfortably and do its best work.
Do you need to do it? Not always - it's an optional helping hand, not a must-do. We suggest once or twice a week, and if you're just making the switch, two or three times a week for that first week or two can help things along. The how-to guide walks you through the method.
A couple of things worth knowing: it's for external use only, and it's best to skip it on broken or freshly shaved skin.
If your skin is already irritated, the mask isn't the answer - a clay mask on irritated skin can make things worse. Stop using it, pause your deodorant too, and get in touch. We'd rather hear from you early, and we'll do our best to look after you.
